ATTENTION RETIREES
COLA PASSED! Act 21 of 2026 - Special Pension COLA for Municipal and State Law Enforcement
This summer Pennsylvania enacted a new Special Ad Hoc Postretirement Adjustment for eligible retired municipal police officers and firefighters (Act 21 of 2026). Act 21 provides qualifying retirees with a permanent increase in their monthly pension benefit, effective August 1, 2026. The law represents a significant victory for the PA FOP and our allies in providing sorely needed relief for our retirees and their families. Please see the Retiree Page for more information at https://www.foplebanon42.com/?zone=/unionactive/private_view_page.cfm&page=Retirees.
Lodge No. 42 was pleased to join with the National Fraternal Order of Police and National Auxiliary in recognizing July 2026 as the inaugural Law Enforcement Child Month, honoring the children who stand behind the badge. These young family members often share in the sacrifices, challenges, and commitments that come with a career in law enforcement. Through this initiative, we celebrate their strength, resilience, and important role in our law enforcement community. Law Enforcement Child Month also provides an opportunity to support programs that positively impact the lives of these children. We encourage you to learn more about this meaningful cause and consider supporting its mission. Please visit https://gratitudeinitiative.org/ for more information. We look forward to recognizing each July as LE Child Month, letting LE Children know their commitment and sacrifices don't go unseen.
